Licensing

Sonictracs is represented by PRS and MCPS who issue licences on our behalf.

Our music is cleared for all media projects worldwide, but a valid licence must be obtained from MCPS or through the local agent who represents our catalogue in your territory.

To get a quote or purchase a licence via the MCPS rate card (e.g. feature film, trailer, game, commercial, online production) you can apply here.

If you’re making a TV programme for UK broadcasters or online platform, you can apply for an IPC licence here.

Getting a Licence

In order to obtain a licence, you will need to fill out a form on the PRS website that involves searching for the song you wish to licence by the song title and composer name. To find this and more detailed information, just click the track title on any of the web players or the info button on the right side of the track.

You may also be asked the project type, length of the song used, the territory of the project and other questions about your intended use of the song.

Creating an Account

To download files, you must have first created an account with us. Your account will need to be approved by a member of our team, which will be completed within 1 working day.

Downloading Files

Once you have obtained your licence and have an approved account on this website, you can then log in to your account and download your files which includes a 48khz/24 bit WAV audio file, detailed track information and a cue sheet template.

If you need alternative audio formats, please get in touch here.

Alternative Versions

Alternative versions of songs such as Version B or Version C are registered with the same tune codes as the main title. To licence an alternative version, obtain a licence for the main title of the song and then include (B), (C) or (D) depending on your choice in the work title when submitting cue sheets.

Cutdowns

Cutdowns such as 30s or 60s are covered by the main registered title, you just simply choose the length of the song you have used when obtaining your licence and then you can download the 30s or 60s version, or create your own cut from the full length file.
